Welcome to The GloveTrotters website (Stuart, Ramie, Sean & Tiana)! We are active family travelers exploring the world since our kids were babies. Though opportunities to all travel together are becoming rarer, Stuart & I continue to travel on many trips by ourselves and have become active boomer travelers.
Right now we’re focusing on exploring our great home state of North Carolina. While many of our articles do focus on the Tar Heel state, we also love visiting National Parks, day hiking and our adventurous spirits have found us swimming with the manatees in Florida, bicycling Assateague Island in search of Virginia’s wild ponies and canyoneering the narrows of Utah.
Having lived in California, Connecticut, Idaho and now North Carolina we’ve taken advantage of every opportunity to travel not just locally but also overseas.
Please be advised that the sailboat launching beach at Vista Point has new signage and restrictions will be enforced this year. The beach is for launching multi-hull sailboats and swimming is not allowed. Dogs must be kept on leash and all visitors to the beach must yield to sailboats. Sailboats have fine edge rudders and daggerboards below the waterline and anyone in the water should be aware that collision with a sailboat can result in serious injury. The sailboat launching beach is not a good area for swimming. Jet skis are not allowed on the beach there.
